A document was created as I dwelt in Ennis District court awaiting my hearing, to record the comings and goings of fellow practitioners who dwelt with me. I set to knitting straight away, my first lines of stitched were pretty loose but they firmed up in the next few lines. The Empathy of others was up against the error I felt in the situation (mine and the judicial system), which I gave evidence to explain, and the matter was struck out. The whole action felt like a resistance to being controlled and giving into worry, to represent honestly and with a supportive presence that was somehow setting up a new thread in the Court System. I was joined by others who brought or made something themselves, and we knitted into the controlled social space of the courtroom through strands of dialogue and textile. Court Documents were produced from the collective experience.
